The 2022 entry period for the Natural Stone Institute Awards Program is now open. The association is pleased to announce a call for entries for the Pinnacle Awards, Industry Recognition Awards, and scholarship program. All entries are due by Friday, May 20th. 

The Natural Stone Institute has provided natural stone and fabrication services for its 43rd home with the Gary Sinise Foundation through its R.I.S.E. (Restoring Independence Supporting Empowerment) program.

The Natural Stone Institute (NSI) encourages members to donate to this year’s auction, which will take place live on Monday, September 12, 2022 during the Bluestone Study Tour, with an online silent auction September 5th to 12th. All proceeds will benefit the Natural Stone Foundation.

Foundation’s R.I.S.E. program builds home for US Army Captain

Stone World recently sat down with Jane Bennett, executive vice president of the Natural Stone Institute, to recap the association’s recent Study Tour in the Bluestone region of Upstate New York and Pennsylvania. 

The Natural Stone Institute will welcome two individuals to its board of directors in January 2023.

The Natural Stone Institute has provided natural stone and fabrication services for its 46th home with the Gary Sinise Foundation through its R.I.S.E. (Restoring Independence Supporting Empowerment) program. The Foundation’s R.I.S.E. program builds 100% mortgage-free specially adapted smart homes for severely wounded veterans and first responders. Natural stone and fabrication for U.S. Army Sergeant Bryan Anderson were provided by Daltile, Prestige Marble & Granite, and Salado.

Jeff Erickson of Cutting Edge Countertops will join the Natural Stone Institute’s executive committee as board secretary. 

The Natural Stone Institute has announced Megan Ognibene as a recipient of the 2022 Natural Stone Scholarship and Women in Stone Empowerment Scholarship. Megan will be celebrated during the association’s annual Awards Ceremony at StonExpo in Las Vegas on January 31st. 

The Natural Stone Institute will offer a webinar on Thursday, February 23, 2023 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. (EST) showing a virtual tour of Stony Creek Quarry in Branford, CT.
