The Natural Stone Institute’s Person of the Year award is presented annually to an individual who has provided extensive support to the association’s executive team. As a dedicated leader and tireless volunteer, Buddy Ontra of Ontra Stone Concepts is recognized as the 2022 Person of the Year. 

The Natural Stone Institute has provided natural stone and fabrication services for its 42nd home with the Gary Sinise Foundation through its R.I.S.E. (Restoring Independence Supporting Empowerment) program.

A new course focused on the requirements needed to certify to the Natural Stone Sustainability Standard is now available in the Natural Stone University.

The Natural Stone Institute has provided natural stone and fabrication services for its 47th home with the Gary Sinise Foundation through its R.I.S.E. (Restoring Independence Supporting Empowerment) program. The Foundation’s R.I.S.E. program builds 100% mortgage-free specially adapted smart homes for severely wounded veterans and first responders. Natural stone and fabrication for U.S. Marine Corps Corporal and Police Officer Sharif Muzayen were provided by UMI and Florida Custom Marble.

The Natural Stone Institute seeks nominations for industry professionals who would like to serve on its Board of Directors.

Registration is now open for the 2023 Natural Stone Institute Colorado Study Tour, beginning Sunday afternoon September 10^th and continuing through Wednesday night, September 13^th.

Natural Stone Institute is a supporting organization of the sixth annual Design & Construction Week (DCW).

Over 100 members attended NSI’s annual study tour, which took place in western Colorado, September 10th to 14th. Highlights of the event included a rare glimpse inside Colorado Stone Quarries’ historic Pride of America marble quarry and fabrication facility and a trip to the Gallegos stone yard and marble shop in Gypsum. During the Gallegos visit, attendees enjoyed a fun Poker Run activity featuring their suppliers.
