Home to the University of Tennessee and host to the 1982 World’s Fair, Knoxville, TN, was the destination for the 2019 Natural Stone Institute Study Tour, which drew a total of 66 participants. The four-day event provided an arena for attendees to mingle and network through many sessions and activities.

The Natural Stone Institute has provided natural stone and fabrication services for its 23rd home with the Gary Sinise Foundation’s R.I.S.E. program (Restoring Independence Supporting Empowerment). The R.I.S.E. program builds specially adapted smart homes for severely wounded veterans and first responders. To date, Natural Stone Institute members have been involved in twenty-three completed homes.

We are proud to share that the Natural Stone Institute (NSI) has become an Endorsing Partner of Hardscape North America, a trade show for hardscape contractors, dealers and landscape professionals.

The eight winning projects of the 2022 Tucker Design Awards were celebrated during a ceremony at the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto on Wednesday, June 29th. The 2022 Bybee Prize recipients, Tod Williams and Billie Tsien, were also celebrated during the ceremony.

The Natural Stone Institute has provided natural stone and fabrication services for its 44th home with the Gary Sinise Foundation through its R.I.S.E. (Restoring Independence Supporting Empowerment) program. The Foundation’s R.I.S.E. program builds 100% mortgage-free specially adapted smart homes for severely wounded veterans and first responders. Natural stone and fabrication for U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer 3 Romulo “Romy” Camargo and his family were provided by The Granite Place, Concept Elite Enterprises and Northern Stone Supply.

The Natural Stone Institute (NSI) has announced the creation of the David Fell Spirit of Service Award, presented to a company and/or individual who participated in the Gary Sinise Foundation R.I.S.E. program to recognize their efforts for demonstrating the qualities and characteristics of leadership within their company, the community and beyond. 

The Natural Stone Institute has provided natural stone and fabrication services for its 40^th home with the Gary Sinise Foundation through its R.I.S.E. (Restoring Independence Supporting Empowerment) program.

The Natural Stone Institute’s Person of the Year award is presented annually to an individual who has provided extensive support to the association’s executive team during the year.  

The Natural Stone Institute has provided natural stone and fabrication services for its 41st home with the Gary Sinise Foundation through its R.I.S.E. (Restoring Independence Supporting Empowerment) program.
