Video: An Inside Look at the Bluestone Study Tour

Organized by the Natural Stone Institute, the study tour gives participants knowledge about stone in a particular region

Organized annually by the Natural Stone Institute, the Study Tour is designed to allow participants to learn more about a particular stone region by visiting quarries and production facilities. It also provides an opportunity for networking and education on pertinent topics pertaining to the stone industry.

This year’s Study Tour was based out of Binghamton, NY, and visited Bluestone quarries in New York and Pennsylvania. Here’s a look at the four-day event.

As Group Editorial Director of Stone World, Contemporary Stone & Tile Design and TILE, Jennifer Richinelli has been covering the stone and tile industries since she launched her career at BNP Media in 1996. Throughout her tenure, she has visited and reported on numerous national and international quarries, stone fabrication shops, trade shows and other industry events. She has also collaborated with members of the A&D community, including many renowned architects, on articles about designing with stone and tile.
